About the Job

We’re building a platform that supports leading AI organizations—such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and Google—by delivering high-quality human feedback data to evaluate and train their models. Surge was founded by former machine learning (ML) engineers with the mission of advancing AI. Our product has been hailed as a “game-changer” for ML teams, and we’ve operated profitably from the start without relying on venture funding.

As part of our small, fast-growing team—comprising former engineering leaders and ML practitioners from Google, Meta, Twitter, and Airbnb—you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing our customers’ AI models. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our clients to craft data strategies, oversee data collection projects, and deliver the datasets they need to improve their models.

What You’ll Do:

• Consult with AI researchers to understand their data needs and identify ways to improve their models.
• Design and manage custom data collection projects, including:
  • Developing user-friendly interfaces.
  • Establishing robust quality control processes.
  • Managing throughput and delivering datasets on schedule.
• Streamline and codify data collection systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
